Credit Unioning circa 1985

Posted by Brent Dixon on October 18th, 2006

You know, I actually had some worthwhile topics up my sleeve to write about today…but I’ve dropped them in favor of posting this YouTube video on “Credit Unioning.”

My favorite part is the maw-maw at the end talking about her “hot little number.”

I hope you laugh as hard as we did:

Am I doing something wrong? Cuz when I hit play it says it’s loading and then goes directly to “share or watch again.”

    HELP . . .

Due to the overwhelming response from this post, we have crashed YouTube’s servers.

Just kidding, I don’t know why it’s not working. It works on my end.

    Three points to make:

    1. Seriously, when’s the last time you heard the line “the uncertainty of gold”?
    2. Any guesses as to why the phrase “credit unioning” didn’t stick? I mean it really rolls off the tongue.
    3. In 1985 Brent was a toddler.

Thanks for the laugh—it’s a dreary, rainy day in Seattle. I needed that!

Has anyone come up with a catchy “verb” that credit unions can use besides “banking?” Somehow, I don’t think “credit unioning” is going to make a come back…

Good times. I was waiting for the talking head to cavalierly toss the gold brick back over his shoulder and right into the pie of a teller.
