Partnership Symposium Update

Posted by Trey Reeme on June 1st, 2007

The Symposium is coming together nicely – Colin, Denise, Guy, Jason, Lisa, Lydia, Rob, Ron, and Shari have all confirmed their speaking times – with Denise and Ron taking the stage for a two-hour debate one after the other. If you’ve followed exchanges on their blogs, you know it’ll be a two can’t-miss sessions.

Tim McAlpine has been awarded the at-large speaker slot thanks to an outpouring of support from his fans. He sends the following message to Timvotees:

Speaking of registration, on the newly-minted FORUM Solutions website you can register and pay online. Also, you can find the speaker schedule and transportation directions here.

By the way, I’m geared up for BarCampBankSeattle and collaborating there with some of my favorite FI bloggers. If you can make it, it promises to be, as Gene calls it, “intense, sort of like the Olympics of Seminars.”

    whoa whoa whoa

I thought Ron was following Denise because their presentations were sure to be both complementary and oppositional, and that would leave time at the end of their presentations for joint discussion/debate.

    Now it’s a 2-hour debate?

And remember—Denise offered up 1/2 her time to get Tim on the roster.

    :)

Ahhh, I see! I misheard what was actually going on. I would like to see you two share the stage for at least a little while though.

You know, we could also set up the Nintendo Wii for a little one-on-one boxing between you two – with Tim as the onstage referee and intermission juggler. Just a thought :)

    Ron,

Do I smell fear? I am ready. Our presentations will be oppositional and complementary and I think this would be a great time for us to both debate and facilitate a conversation with the participants.

I spend at LEAST 2 hours blogging with you a day. Come on!!

PS—just watched Tim’s video. Oh man, that is so good. Reminds me of a kinder, gentler version of the Will Farrell “landlord” video.

If you haven’t seen that—here’s another parent coaching their child to speak in a really cute (depends on who you are) way.

I hereby RESCIND my vote for Tim… and recast it for his son.

    Impeach Tim!

If we’re doing video balloting, I’m now voting for the Loch Ness Monster.

This is tremendous. I’m beside myself. Think about it. New footage of a modern myth. It’s like Jack Nicklaus’ improbable 1986 Masters win. Everyone counted the big scary creatures out – relegated them to just stories. Retired their numbers. Bought their retro jerseys.

    Then, bam. New footage.

I mean, has this happened in my lifetime? Roswell, Bigfoot, various and sundry ghosts and goblins. We’ve lived with all the old grainy photographs and evidence from a more mystical past – the early 20th century. Now we’ve been given a gift – a new grainy film right here in the 21st century.

Who cares if it’s a hoax. It’s new footage. Of any urban myth. New footage! She’s out of retirement. Nessie is Roger Clemens, Jordan after the failed minor league stint/banishment, Jordan in the shocking blue Wizards uniform, and Deion Sanders all in one package.

    Welcome back, Nessie.
